Fourteenth Annual Hexfest August 25-27 Announced

Barto, PA: Hex Hollow Music proudly presents the 14th Annual HEXFEST music festival happening August 25 - 27th, 2006, at Hex Hollow Farm, just off Rt 100 in Barto, Pennsylvania.

Headlining the Festival are Steve Kimock and Mike Cross. Steve Kimock is the lead guitarist of choice for Bruce Hornsby, Phil Lesh, and the Dead.  In 1988 Jerry Garcia called him "my favorite unknown guitarist" but he now known as one of the finest improvising guitarists on the planet. Steve will be doing a performance set and a rare guitar workshop on Sunday, with giveaways from D’Addario strings and L.R. Baggs pickups.   

The Saturday show features North Carolina’s Mike Cross. Mike blends his down home humor with virtuoso fiddle and guitar playing into consummate showmanship. Mike Cross has delighted audiences from the Telluride Colorado Bluegrass Festival to the Philadelphia Folk Festival. His fiery Irish jigs and 12-string bottleneck blues were the highlight of the 2002 Hexfest, and we are proud to feature Mike Cross in a return engagement.

Hexfest promotes the local music scene by featuring acts that perform regularly in the southeastern Pennsylvania area, in a variety of music genres. Jazz with The Octave Below of Bethlehem and Berks Jazz Project of Reading, Old Time Traditional with The Druckenmillers of Allentown, Rock with Born Cross-Eyed of Barto, VuJa De of Boyertown, and Dakini of Hegins, Reggae with Bushmans Blend of Bethlehem, and Folk with Dave Fry, Kris Kehr, Boris Garcia, and Festival Host Steve Walker.

The music begins at 5 pm Friday August 25. There will be craft demonstrations, Open Stage on Saturday,  and acoustic campfire jams throughout the nights.
